Demonstration in Brussels to support women in Spain and abortion right in Europe, which took place while there was another demonstration supporting a more restrictive laws on abortion.

according to European Women Lobby:

"On 20 December 2013, the Spanish Council of Ministers approved a draft bill aiming at reforming the current law on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). If approved, abortion would be allowed in Spain only in the case of rape or if the pregnancy poses a serious physical or mental health risk to women.

Any abortion carried out that does not fall under the two permitted categories will be considered a crime, leaving women in Spain with two choices: travel abroad to get a safe and legal abortion or having an “underground” abortion with serious threats to their health.

If approved, this new bill would lead to a 30 years step backwards in the rights of women."

Manifestation à Bruxelles pour soutenir les femmes en Espagne et le droit à l'avortement en Europe, qui a eu lieu alors qu'il y avait une autre manifestation de soutien à une législation plus restrictive sur l'avortement.
 


Selon le Lobby européen des femmes:

"Le 20 Décembre 2013, le Conseil des ministres espagnol a approuvé un projet de loi visant à réformer la loi actuelle sur la santé et les droits sexuels et reproductifs(SDSR). Si elle est approuvée, l'avortement ne serait autorisé en Espagne qu'en cas de viol ou si la la grossesse pose un risque grave pour la santé physique ou mentale  pour les femmes.

Tout avortement pratiqué qui ne rentre pas dans les deux catégories autorisées sera considéré comme un crime, laissant les femmes en Espagne avec deux choix: voyager à l'étranger pour effectuer un avortement sans risque et légal ou avoir un avortement clandestin" avec de graves menaces pour leur santé.

Si la réforme est approuvée, ce nouveau projet de loi reviendrait à un retour de 30 ans en arrière pour les droits des femmes ".
